I’m a self-taught artist who somehow managed to turn my doodling into part of my job. I love all aspects of book making from writing to drawing to designing to paper stocks to printing and finally reading. Every project deserves its own unique style and design.
I attended Eugene Lang College the New School for Liberal Arts and got a degree in Creative Writing and Journalism. Then I went to Emerson College where I learned all about book and magazine design in their Publishing and Writing MA program. My love for drawing, reading, writing, and design have all led me to my current position as a book designer at Penguin Random House. But it has also led me to create a small print run literary food magazine, Salt & Pepper, where I get to explore all my craziest art ideas (check out Salt & Pepper and @snpmag for my original art and designs).
When I’m not working on book or magazine projects, I love to run outside along the East River and bake sweet things on the weekend. I also tend to get the travel bug every couple of months and convince my husband to go somewhere new with me, which helps broaden my design aesthetic and open my eyes to new cultures and foods.
